Hi Everyone!

We’ve had a pretty amazing week and a half with Bryan. He’s still doing tons of kissing…Ann got birthday kisses and Tyler and Tabitha got kisses as well. They were so excited! Bryan has also been mouthing words to us. He mouthed something that is so very special to us that we aren’t quite ready to share it yet, but it literally brought tears to our eyes. Slowly but surely he is showing some signs of improvement.

A week ago Bryan got his second prosthetic bone flap put in. He was watched very closely, as the first time he got the bone flap it had to be removed 2 days later. He still has the lumbar drain in and it looks like he will probably need a shunt..possibly next week. But so far, it looks like he is doing good with this bone flap. He’s still sleepy sometimes due to the fluid, but when he’s awake he is pretty responsive.

Our song this week is All You Need is Love because love has gotten us this far. Not only do we have the love of each other, but we have the love of all of you, Bryan’s supporters, and we truly feel like love is what is helping Bryan through this.

Bryan, your story has inspired so many to come forward with their love and prayers, to support you and your family with encouraging words that we might not have thought to say to another in need. Love and friendship supported my family during a really rough time. Without that, I don't know how we would have made it through. So, we pay it forward...to you, your family and maybe even to a stranger who's down on their luck. Even giving someone a smile can make a difference. Knowing that you are communicating with your family has brought a smile to my face today!! I pray for you daily, Bryan. YOU ARE going to overcome and heal! And all the love you get will surely bring it!!

Oh, yessss!!!! What spectacular news. I heard Dr. Manley speaking on news radio on Monday detailing Bryan's eventual move to a rehabilitation facility, so I knew that it must have been a very exciting few days for the Stow Family.

And this update is thrilling! I mean, this is pretty much what I've been waiting to hear since this all went down -- that Bryan had regained enough ability to begin to communicate with simple gestures or mouthing words or what have you. It goes without saying that this shows his brain function is still working and he's healing inside. What the future will hold is still unclear, I know -- based on the fluid build-up from the last cranial restoration I think the writing is on the wall that another shunt placement will be indicated -- but the trajectory for his recovery really seems positive.

Stow family, I'm sure it must be deeply moving to have Bryan mouth messages to you! I'm very happy for you guys. My wife and I drove past SF General Hospital this past Saturday and Monday, and both times we gave a wave in Bryan's direction and hoped he was having a good day. Looks like he's been having a pretty darn good few days! So hey Bryan, string together a few more days like that if you can... it's getting time for you to have a good WEEK. You've earned it, man.

Hello Bry and family,
I love the update. This is incredible. I am so happy for Bry and you. This is great news that Bry doing better. I knew he would. It sounds like he is going to be going to rehab in the near future. I have no idea what one is the best for him but please only take him to the best one he so deserve it. He is going to be the come back kid.
I think the best thing for me reading this is that his kids were able to get a kisses and spend time with their dad. That is so important for both the kids and Bry. They are part of his healing team. One day we will all look back and see how far Bry had come. He will me a walking miracles. As always Bry and family will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Awesome news! What a wonderful triumph! Give Bryan a hug from me and know I most definitely "believe." The great(er) day will be any day now when he will become more alert and (hopefully) be able to speak and/or write a note. For now, he is letting you know, he's here and that's all that matters. He loves you and so do all of us virtually. Peace, love, and all wonderful wishes to Bryan and family.

Bryan and Stow family,

What great news!! I can only imagine the feelings of optimism and hope that is running through your family at this time. I think that Bryan's guardian angel Matt is truly helping Byran to find the strength to continue on this road of recovery. I know that this will continue and Bryan will recover from this.

I still believe in Bryan, his recovery and his great family. I pray, hope and believe everyday for Bryan and all of you. I send you all the positives, love and my support for the continuance of this great recovery.

Keep up the great work Bryan!! We love ya.

So glad to hear he is responding more. I hope that soon he can find his voice. I imagine if he hasn't spoken in a few months that it takes time to get that back. Someday he will sing again for you. My husband sang for the nurses when he was in the hospital with his head injury. That was when we caught him in a good mood. It sure made up for those awful times when he was fighting us all off. Oh the joys of TBI. There will be some terrible stories and there will be some funny and happy ones. You just have to take it as it comes. Keep up the good work, Bryan!

Happy Birthday Ann. What wonderful news! I have been praying for Bryan and your family since the beginning, and I agree that the LOVE has paid off!

This song reminds me of my own older brother, who passed suddenly in 2008. He was a BIG Beatles fan, all of his young life. I thank you for sharing it here with us! Love is potent! I can tell you that it is what got our family thru too! It may only have 4 letterrs, but LOVE is a BIG STRONG word!

I will contiunue to read your updates each week and continue to light candles daily for Bryan. He is truly our Miracle man! My blessings to you~

This is all such wonderful news! I have been following his story since the this all went down. As a loyal Dodger fan I am embarrassed and sadden by the actions that lead to Bryan's situation. But it warms my heart to know that there are more fans like me then the awful people who did this! When you can't go to a baseball game and enjoying routing for their favorite team without feel threatened, there needs to be a change!!! My love, prayers and good vibes are with you Stow family!!! May Brian's road to recovery be swift! He seems to be a strong man with a wonderful family by his side! Armed with that....he is UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us! So VERY happy to hear all of your family's wonderful progress!! I have been following your blog since it started, and it warms my heart to hear of the healing that is taking place with Brian. I will never forget when you said on TV, "we know we aren't bringing home the same Brian". I am so happy that this is seeming not to be the case. I know there is much healing and recovering ahead, but just knowing that he is awake, aware, moving all of his limbs, talking and kissing you is proof that God is good and that Brian is not going to let evil win this time. God bless you all and keep posting good news!

As a sister of two older brothers whom I love & adore immensely (one named Bryan), a mother to a little boy who has my heart wrapped around his finger and the wife of a firefighter/paramedic, it's incomprehensible to imagine what Bryan and each of you has been fighting through because of someone's senseless actions. A scary thought for ANY of us in today's society.

Nonetheless, your unshakable love, devotion, humor and hope displayed in sharing your visits with Bryan has inspired me, along with the rest of the country. Thank you for the reminder of how precious life is, how important family is, and how amazing the power of prayer can be. I imagine it's incredibly difficult every single day, yet through your posts you allow us to share the heart-warming triumphs of progress.

I will continue praying for each of you, and I look forward to the day Bryan is able to "chapstick-up" on his own and lay a big wet one on each of you. God bless all of you.

Hello to the Stow Family and supporters,
I woke up this morning thinking about Bryan Stow, and how senseless and hurtful acts of violence have impacted you. I decided to search online for Bryan's health update and found this wonderful website. Thank you for letting us all know how Bryan is doing. I just want you to know that you have another supporter and I send my love and encouragement for your daily struggles and wins. :o)
I love seeing the videos and listening to the songs you post for Bryan. You've never given up and that is truly love in action. I will continue to look for fundraising events and other ways to support. I have donated through the website, and know that the money goes to a VERY worthy cause. God bless and know that everything will be alright. With love, Gretchen Vogel

Dear Bryan and Family,

We are students in the On Track program, a program for adults with brain injuries. We are all learning how to cope with our brain injuries, just like you are doing today.

We have traveled the same rocky road that you are traveling, DON’T GIVE UP! You are not alone, have hope. We have watched each other improve in areas that we never thought possible; we are now reading, writing, talking and finding our way through this new life. Keep trying no matter how long it takes.

From our experience we have learned that the road to recovery is tough, but it is worth the fight. The brain is incredible! Believe in yourself.

“The brain is programmed to create and we are all but children of the universe” – Eric, On Track student.

Sincerely,

The On Track Program

Hey Bryan, I didn't mean to get this behind on checking in. Greetings from the Lone Star State, and in particular, good ole HOT West Texas. Our Spring certainly didn't last long, and here we are into Summer. Have already had hundred degree plus days here and no rain. But thankfully, the tornadoes have passed us by.

It was sooooooo cool to read about your son on opening day at your home park. Good for him. He's like his daddy no doubt.I know all of your family as well as you are most proud of that day. What a wonderful memory for all time.

My son, who is with AMR in Jackson, MS, is back on the ambulance after his arm injury. He really got tired of being confined to desk duty. Hopefully the arm is 100 per cent and he doesn't injure it again any time soon.

Keep up with your therapy and know we all support you and your efforts. God's still driving your ambulance and things are moving along according to his plan. Just keep the faith.

Gentle breezes on the wings of the Angels atop the West Texas winds and to God in heaven. Georgana

Keep strong and carry on. Good job, Tyler!! Keep Bryan's story in the media to remind the public to pray, or to just be better human beings.

I agree with everything Paulio said and couldn't have said it better myself. Thank you so much for continuing to keep us all updated. I think we all can agree that the entire Stow family feels like our family now. We all continue to pray for Bryan and send you all as much positive energy as is possible. Keep fighting Bryan! God bless the Stows!
