News & Updates

Ever since March 31st, 2011, we have had the utmost respect and confidence in the LAPD, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. We will continue to thank and praise them for all their dedication and hard work, regardless of the outcome, even after this is long over. Obviously we want justice, but that wouldn’t even be possible if it weren’t for all that has been put into it. They continued to update us and keep in contact but we were able to put all our focus on Bryan and not think too much about this case. We put our faith and trust into everyone involved and we know that it is important to them as well to see justice prevail in the end of all this.

Just read the latest news and am giving thanks that the judge has decided to prosecute those responsible for Bryan's injuries. I'm sure so many others post about their love and concern for Bryan and all his family, and I want to assure you that I too have followed his progress from day one, and have somehow felt a part of this entire experience. I check often for updates and am always glad to hear the latest concerning Bryan..good..and even not so good. My prayers are sincere and ongoing for everyone involved. I wish I could do more!

God's richest blessings on each of you there. I know it has been a long and difficult road to this point.. and of course the journey continues.

Much love,

Bryan, you are always going to be a BRAVE man!!! TBI is no joke, but the best of all is that you are still here, and able to mingle with your family and us. You are my inspiration!! I know it is hard and frustrating, but you are ABLE through God who created you. I pray to God for your speedy recovery. Love ya!!

I have been following this since the beginning. I am so happy there will be a trial. I know it is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. As embarrased as I am for this tragedy I do believe they have the right people. I pray for Bryan and his family as this progresses. Justice will be served. I just know it. I will continue to pray for Bryan every day!!

kiThank God! Going to trial, and I too believe in a fair judicial system, but my first thought was how much weight Louie Sanchez has lost. Hmmmm - looks like guilty stress to me.

I am sorry for the families of these cowardly animals too; and in a way, it just says more about them. They had a choice about putting this horrible stress on their family. Bryan didn't.

Hugs and continued prayers

Hi Bryan and Family,

I could not stop thinking of all of you last week and was over thrilled when the judge ordered the case to trial!! It is so wonderful that all of the Stow family were able to continue to be with Bryan and help him, not worrying about the case due to all of the confidence in the people who have worked it for so long. I am so thrilled and continue to pray that justice does come.

However I continue to pray for Bryan and his family as well. Bryan has come such a long way and has improved greatly. He along with his family are kept in my prayers as no matter the outcome of the trial, Bryan continues to work on his recovery and the Stow family is always by his side.

Hang in there Bryan, we know that you can make this recovery a complete success!!

Hello Stow Family, I watched reports of the preliminary hearing with growing alarm as the first witnesses were all unable to identify Bryan's assailants. I'm relieved that the judge ruled there was sufficient evidence to order them to trial. But justice may come in the form of a plea bargain at some point, so I'm really glad to hear your family has a good and communicative relationship with the DA's office, as this way there will be no surprises and nothing happening without your consent and notice.

Your last post was so profound that I was left speechless. I did not previously realize that Bryan was unaware of what had befallen him. I continue to be amazed at how TBI patients manage to cope with daily existence in uncharted territory. And through your posts and responses from others like you, now I can be amazed at how FAMILIES of TBI patients manage to cope with the stress and heartache that is your lot. I've said many times that Bryan did not ask for this, but it's worth noting that none of you asked for this, either. So thanks for continuing to share your story here on this website. Every time I catch a Giants game I think of you guys and wonder how Bryan is doing. Cheers, Bryan. Cheers, Stow family.

hello to Bry and Family,
I still wear my SF hat with your P number on it, still toss on my orange and black wristband (though I tend to save it for special events as the letters are starting to fade). As one of the few who still work at AMR in Santa Clara, we your friends here and those who now work at RM (where most work now), are still here waiting to see you come back through that proverbial door so we can slap your hand, hug you tight, and wish you well. I see and work with Evan every week and have seen with my own eyes what can be accompished. TBI is a MF'er but we all celebrate your small successes, for those are what build up to breakthroughs. Thank you to the world for standing with our friend and his family. Go Bryan, Go Giants!

Hi Byran,

I hope you watched the game last night. The first Perfect game in San Francisco Giant history was thrown by Cain and they beat up the Astros winning 10-0!! It was a great game and I am so hoping that you were able to watch.

Bryan and family, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow night when the Giants start game 1 of the World Series. Can you believe how they've played when their backs are against the wall? They never give up!
We will never give up and I know you won't, either.

Two steps forward, one -- or two -- steps back. I know it has been a struggle for all of you, but you have so much love and support among you and from people around the country (and the world)who care. Remember that when you are down.

Bryan, I hope you can watch the ballgame and root for Zito to pitch another gem and the Panda to knock a couple off Verlander! Loved seeing you on the big screen on Opening Day and Tyler throwing out the first pitch - AWESOME! Hope to see you out at the ballpark sometime soon, too.

Giant wishes for continued healing and peace for all.

Bryan, Had to change e-mail sites as we no longer use Suddenlink and they closed our e-mail. Sorry to hear that you had to be in the hospital again. I know you will be recovering and on the mend. Prayers and thoughts are still coming you way on the wings of Angels blown by the West Texas winds. We are still in drought mode, but hopefully, the Good Lord will send rain our way before long. May you have a good summer. G

Update July 21, 2014
Wow. I've got so much sympathy for you guys. Seizures are rough.

My wife suddenly developed epilepsy about 10 years ago - she was in her 40s. The first time she had a seizure, I thought she was dying. It was a very traumatic thing to witness. Luckily, she only has seizures while asleep, so the risk of her hitting her head is very small. But for those of us (well, me) who witness her seizures, it's really frightening. So my hat is off to Bryan's caregiver who took the blow and helped Bryan avoid further trauma to his brain. That is heroic conduct.

Earlier this year, my wife decided that the side effects of her medication were frustrating/debilitating enough that she wanted to taper off her medicine. She did so. Approximately two months after going AED-free, she had a seizure, and then later that night she had a second seizure - two tonic-clonic seizures within about 5 hours. Her brain was so scrambled that she couldn't answer basic questions - she knew her name, but not mine; she couldn't tell me what month it was; and with her words badly slurred, she insisted that she wanted to watch TV but couldn't name a single program that she wanted to watch. After about 90 minutes her memory and comprehension returned, but overall it was quite a setback. It showed that she needs to be on AED medication, and like Bryan, this is a lifetime prescription. My wife's epilepsy is idiopathic while Bryan's is obviously symptomatic, but the end result is the same.

Stay strong, Stow family. Bryan yet lives despite all the injuries he sustained. He's trying to work his way back, but there are so many obstacles in his path. Those of us who have followed his journey know that he's a special guy, but he's human like the rest of us, and he's got foibles and limitations. That doesn't make him any less special. Maybe it makes him a bit more special: after all, he's the World Famous Mr. Bryan Stow.

Update July 21, 2014
Hello Bryan, Listening to older Queensryche and thought of you. Your parents continue to amaze and teach us all what family and community are. Many good families in world and glad you are a part of one, just as I. Ongoing perseverance is remarkable and something anyone reading your updates will learn from. We are all here for encouragement, prayer and to also learn on what an amazing family we are blessed to have met.

Curious if you are listening to any new tunes or what you enjoy when not listening to our San Francisco Giants continue to have great season.

Thank you Stowe family for the beautifully detailed updates. All of Byran's supporters know how busy you are so no need to apologize as we are the ones who are in awe of your spirit, faith and wonderful hearts.

I am sure I speak for many that all of you hopefully take time out just for yourselves to renew your spirit and observe something new that is there for you to enjoy. Make the time and smell the summer and honor all the strength you give to yourself. All of you are inspirational.

Love the Salazar's from the Central Coast :)

You are all awesome for what you do every day and night, making all the difference in Bryan's life. Stay strong!

Update July 21, 2014
Thank you for sharing and yea we know you been kinda of busy so don't ever feel the need to say sorry. It's great that Bryan will be taken care now wit the settlement I would assume it makes your parents and (you two) feel better know he is going to get the care he needs and should have. Not sure if you will be able to put his behind you but, it can move to the side or the back of your mind and your family can maybe somehow focus on their own life for a while. No amount of $ or time serve from the SOB will change anything. Bryan has a new normal. Try to break the OCD if you can. IT's a nightmare. Get him help for that. Usually when they get on mental disorder then more come to follow, keep an look out. Give him lots of love and no matter what and where your family is being though of
